About our project

Our project is located in Xylofagou area in the end of the building zone. The two sides of the project are green with trees. You can see Ayia Napa and the sea. There is an agricultural land between Ayia Napa and the project . The houses are five- ten minutes far away from the sea with the car.
The villages of Liopetri, Sotira and Xylophagou are part of the "Red Soil Villages" in Famagusta province. Just as an aside the area around them is responsible for almost all the potatoes produced in Cyprus. The local real estate market is booming, since these villages are all within 15 minutes drive of Ayia Napa and to Larnaca International Airport 25 minutes.
Xylophagou (Xylofagou) was built during the Ottoman rule and took its name from its very first settler called Xerophagos (dry food eater). Whilst the area was basically uninhabited, several monasteries were built of which unfortunately only their names remain notably Efstathios and Saint Barbara being the most important. Xylofagou village is well known for its people’s friendliness and wonderful little tavernas where many Cypriots and foreigners travel from other villages just for the great
food served. The village offers beautiful little pebble coves with crystal clear waters excellent for snorkeling or deep sea diving. Along the coastline you will be able to see the sea caves and the local fishing harbor with its little own coffee shop man made by the locals. During the summer the villagers spend their weekends with their families cooking traditional foods on the barbeque like Souvlakia along the seafront and in the winter they enjoy long walks along the coastline cliffs picking asparagus and other wild plants where they later cook and serve as a traditional meal. In the village you can find a large supermarket and many small shops, banks, post office and bakery. Already amongst the villagers you will find over a thousand Europeans who have made Xylophagou their home.
Liopetri is home to two churches of interest; the medieval church of Panagia and the church of Agios Andronikos, which is understood to have been built around the 15th century. Close by are the remains of a Venetian watch tower. Liopetri is a local fishing village where The "river" of Liopetri, Potamos, is only a five minute drive from the village where many fisherman from Liopetri enjoy catching fresh fish. The fishing shelter at Potamos Liopetriou, just east of the village of Xylophagou, is a photogenic inlet where fishermen men spend by day repairing their nets, before setting sail in the evening to go fishing. Liopetri is also well known for its basket making tradition.
